NASCAR Racing 1999 Edition Crew Chief and Spotter for NASCAR Racing 3 ===================================================================== WHO THE HECK IS RON GAINES? --------------------------- The NASCAR Racing 1999 Edition Crew Chief and Spotter for NASCAR Racing 3 is a set of replacement 8-bit vocal sound effects for NASCAR Racing 3. All of the crew chief and spotter sound effects have been replaced with the matching vocal sound effect files from NASCAR Racing 1999 Edition. The original NASCAR Racing 1999 Edition crew chief and spotter voices were recorded by Ron Gaines, and I created this sound pack from those sound effect files simply to have a little variety with NASCAR Racing 3's crew chief and spotter sound effects. Replaced Vocal Sound Effects ---------------------------- All of the new vocal sound effect files that will be replaced in the "Sound.dat" file when installing this sound pack are 8-bit mono, and have been upsampled to 11,025 to be compatable with NASCAR Racing 3. Installation ------------ To install the new vocal sound effects, simply unzip the contents of N99SP4N3.ZIP to your "NASCAR Racing 3\Sound" directory and run "INSTALL.BAT". Your existing "Sound.dat" file will be backed up to the file "SOUND.BAK". Fire up NASCAR Racing 3 and enjoy the crew chief and spotter voice of Ron Gaines! Note that you may need to adjust some of the sound volumes from within NASCAR Racing 3's "Sound Options" menu for best results, as the original NASCAR Racing 1999 Edition vocal sound effects are fairly low in volume. Programs and Utilities ---------------------- The original WAV format sound effects were extracted from NASCAR Racing 1999 Edition using PACK and UNPACK v1.0, with digital editing, amplitude adjustment, noise reduction, and upsampling using GoldWave v4.25 and Cool Edit Professional v1.20. Legalities ---------- The NASCAR Racing 1999 Edition Crew Chief and Spotter for NASCAR Racing 3 (N99SP4N3.ZIP) may be freely distributed in it's unmodified form for any non-commercial use.
